The usual culprit that causes the oil starvation are these tiny screens. They are embedded in hollow banjo bolts that carry either oil or water through the engine. Note that the most common application of banjo bolts don't have a screen in them. The bad thing is, the three banjo bolts with screens on my Subie are in the worst possible locations.Those of you that have used one of ATP's drop in turbos. The OEM oil feed banjo bolt seems too short to grab enough threads when using the wider ATP oil feed line.

The banjo fitting has to be pretty much flush with the turbo to be in proper alignment to get the bolt started. So I take a flathead screw driver, wedge in the banjo, and tweak the banjo until it lines up right and you can get the bolt started. Don't feel bad as this is honestly the second hardest part of the turbo install.
